Retired from working in aged-care, now embracing house sitting full time to travel and explore Australia. Have been house/pet sitting for a while now and enjoy the different environments, the many different pets and the people I meet..Have taken care of a variety of different animals from dogs (little Maltese to three large labradores) cats, birds, lizards, fish. I see this life style as an adventure, always interesting and exciting. I do enjoy exploring the area I stay in but prefer to spend my evenings in the home I am looking after.
I am an active, non-smoking, mature single female. I consider it a privilege to care for your pets, home and garden.
Have owned and loved cats, dogs (including two long haired Chihuahua which lived to the ripe old age of 18), fish, birds and even my daughter's mice.
I live a healthy life style, am reliable, honest, responsible, trustworthy and very tidy. I supply all my own consumables so that you are not inconvenienced.
I will enjoy looking after your pets and home while you are away and ensure that they will be taken care of as you would expect. With love and kindness. To be trusted with someones home and pets is a privilege.. I stick to the routine that the animals are used to and enjoy their company very much. If they are used to sleeping on their owner's bed they can do that with me too.
I am often invited back to house sit and have become friends with many of the people I meet. (and the pets) Also have taken care of Airbnb while owners were away.
I would love to hear from you if I can be of service.

We finished work as a teacher/computer analyst near/in London around 18 months ago and moved to Dorset. We travelled to Australia (and many other countries) for three months soon after and loved Sydney and the surrounding area, particularly the warm/hot weather during our cold, wet winter months in England. We live in a large, beautiful chalet bungalow, which we are very proud of, we work hard to keep it clean and tidy and have spent much of our time changing the layout and decorating. We know we would take care of your home too. We are a non-smoking, 50-ish couple with three children in their 20's and two tortoises. We love all animals, walking in the countryside/by the beach and gardening. We have both grown up with pets and miss the company of our pet Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. This would be our first house-sitting experience in Australia, but we can provide references on request. We are, as before, hoping to escape the winter months at home (while the tortoises are in hibernation) and will be available preferably for a 2 week/month/two month appointment between January and March.

We arrived from the States in the 70’s, recruited to teach, and loved it so much we stayed! We are responsible, reliable, non-smokers and will look after your home in the same manner that we have looked after ours.
We have sold our large house (downsizing from 2 hectares to two bedrooms) and are now retired. We are great walkers and love all animals, having had many over the years.
We have house sat in the past (in Ashgrove, Qld. looking after the lovely Lola, two year-old poodle as well as Lucy in Mitchelton and two schnauzers in Fitzgibbon in 2016, 2017 three lovely little dogs in Forest Lake, Gizmo the cat in Carindale and the schnauzers again in Fitzgibbon, all references below). We are happy to be flexible with your dates. We have used house sitters when we have travelled. We understand how invaluable a good house sitter can be. We'd love to look after your precious pets and would treat your house with the respect that we would hope a housesitter would treat ours. Available for Facetime interview if requested. We hope to hear from you at your convenience. Thanks for the opportunity. Mary and Wayne

We are a retired couple who stay in the beautiful Isle of Skye in Scotland. We come to Sydney to spend some of our time with our daughter, her partner and our grandson. We are now committed for our visit for summer 2018/19. We are available from early November 2018 till mid February 2019.
As well as our house sitting last year in Sydney, we have house sat in Scotland for friends. My husband and I have completed about 12 house exchanges , 7 of them in Australia. Quite a few of our exchangers have mentioned how clean and tidy we have left their homes.
We have 3 self catering apartments on our property, which can be viewed on our website www.knott.skye.co.uk. Reviews can be read on Tripadvisor property no 3676647.
As cat owners jointly for 40 years, we would be happy to care for any cats or other small pets.
In the summer, we spend a lot of time in our garden and are self sufficient in vegetables for a good part of the year. We would be happy to water and tend a garden where required.
We both like reading and going for not too strenuous walks and are interested in bird watching and other wildlife. Our other great interest is good food.
You have our assurance that your house would be cared for as our own and any minor maintenance attended to.

Lynsey & Geoff

Heading:
Leave home with peace of mind packed in your suitcase.

Introduction:
We are a couple in our mid 50s who have decided to step off the oil & gas industry treadmill and see what the rest of the world has to offer.

We are fit, active non-smokers, down to earth, reliable, practical and adaptable. We hail from the United Kingdom/New Zealand but are both now Australian citizens and have recently built a home in Fremantle, Perth. We like to spend our spare time bushwalking, chasing down those elusive relatives on our family trees and dining out. Geoff also enjoys keeping an eye on the Kiwi's beloved All Blacks.

We love most animals but cats would have to be our favourites, especially the big cats, not that we expect to be taking care of one of those!

Why We Like To House Sit:
We have quite recently retired and are fulfilling our dream of traveling worldwide, chasing the sun, with no fixed abode and no plan. Just let the house sitting take us where it leads us :-) We love having the opportunity to immerse into and really connect with whichever place/culture we might find ourselves in and feel that spending time as pseudo residents gives us that chance more so than being regular tourists might. It also gives us exposure to areas that would otherwise have gone untapped by us, areas that we might never have thought to visit.

In our more recent work life we have been living full time in company accommodation and this means, unfortunately, no pets. We always had cats in our lives up until then and house sitting, as opposed to hotel hopping, gives us the pleasure of connecting with some furry friends again....... nothing quite like curling up with a good book and a purring cat on your lap or watching them smile as you give them a good brushing.

And then there's the scope for meeting, and hopefully making friends with, people from all over the world, including the house owners that we sit for and people from within the communities we spend time in.

What We Bring To The Assignment:

Previous House Sitting Experience
We have completed several house sits in Australia, New Zealand, UK and Europe. Below are some of the glowing references we have received:

"What can I say except perfect! Lynsey & Geoff were the perfect house sitters. From the minute they arrived we felt totally at ease leaving our precious fur babies and our house in their hands. We found them to be very open, warm people and were very interesting to get to know. They exuded confidence and this is the perfect way to be as a house sitter as it left us feeling totally relaxed. Within a day or so of us arriving at our holiday destination we had received photos of our cats looking very relaxed which was great to see. We were updated multiple times during their stay and that was a real bonus. We let them use my husbands car when we were away (they arranged their own insurance) and it was returned clean and with petrol in the tank, Just as we knew they would to be honest. We arrived home to a lovely clean house, tales of the time they had spent with our moggies and Geoff had even cleaned our vacuum filters out! They really were great sitters and I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone that wants a very professional friendly couple to watch over their home and animals. Thank you Lynsey & Geoff for keeping our cats happy and our home safe :o)" Sept/Oct 2018 Doncaster, UK

"Lynsey and Geoff sat for us for just over three weeks in August 2018. They are a lovely couple who looked after our home and pussycat Scrabble extremely well. They used their initiative when Scrabble was unexpectedly prescribed some tablets and found a cat-friendly way of administering his medicine which was much appreciated by all concerned. They followed instructions regarding day to day tasks, left the house looking clean and tidy and purchased their own supplies of various items when they could easily have used ours. They also kept in touch with us while we were away concerning anything that we needed to know. We were delighted to have them as house and pet sitters and they come highly recommended." August 2018 Kings Langley, UK

"We were so fortunate to choose Geoff and Lynsey to care for our gorgeous rag doll cat, Oscar, and our home......I was a wreck initially leaving Oscar with anyone, but Geoff and Lynsey sent regular pics of our pampered pussycat and kept us in the loop with anything they weren't sure of....Coming home, our townhouse was in a pristine state, the pussycat was reluctant to have us even return to the house. We didn't recognise our ute we had loaned them, cleaned of all debri, and we were very happy Oscar was so well cared for. In fact we have rebooked this great couple again for 5 weeks in the near future. Thank you for being so great" Di & Nev January/February 2018 Perth Australia

"Geoff and Lynsey are the BEST house/pet sitters you could ever get. We went away for a month overseas and they came to look after our Jack Russell and house. As any pet owner will know it's always a bit of a worry to leave your pet to be cared for by someone else. But we didn't need to worry as they did an excellent job of taking care of our much loved pooch. They regularly sent photos of him and all the adventures they took him on. He had such a great time with them that he sulked for two days when they left. The house was in immaculate order and Geoff even washed my car for me. They are very kind and caring and responsible and I would not hesitate to recommend them as a house /pet sitters." Lyndal & Todd December 2017-January 2018 Auckland NZ

"Perfect sitters! Geoff and Lynsey have been house and pet sitting for us for the last 6 weeks. They have been fantastic, communicating with me regularly, both before and during the sit. Our Bearded Collie has been on wonderful long walks each day and her coat looks as though she's just stepped out of the groomers. The two cats, (not lap cats and very fussy who they take to), have been snuggling up contentedly to their 'foster parents', (lots of lovely photos). Geoff and Lynsey have left the house in an immaculate condition, (clean sheets on the bed), the garden has been tidied and the car returned sparkling and gleaming, (its not been like that since it was in the showroom)! My start date overlapped with their previous house sit and so Lynsey immediately offered to come alone, leaving Geoff to finish with their agreed commitment. They made a 4 hour return trip to come and visit, several weeks before they sat for us. They're a super couple, great fun, but serious when it comes to fulfilling their 'duties'. We'd love for them to sit for us again in the future. Geoff and Lynsey are totally trustworthy and reliable. If you choose them to sit for you, your home and pets will be in very safe hands. Thank you so much guys!" Lizzie & Mick September/October 2017 Reading UK

"Lynsey and Geoff were amazing house sitters. We have a small holding with lots of acreage, horses, sheep, dogs, chickens and also run a holiday business with a Yurt, Pod and Log Cabin on site. Geoff and Lynsey managed the lot, they were fantastic. The guests loved them and kept reviewing Geoff and Lynsey as being fantastic helpful hosts I can't thank them enough. The garden, orchard, guest and drive area was immaculate, Geoff must have spent hours strimming and mowing to make everywhere better than when we left. The Animals were really well cared for. Geoffs skills as a horseman was an added bonus because I could rest knowing my 5 horses would be very well cared for and Geoff would know what to do. Lynsey ensured everything else ran smoothly and her communication whilst we were away was excellent. They both showed a lot of initiative and dealt with problems effectively as and when they happened. We lent Geoff and Lynsey our car and they took good care of it cleaning it out and replacing a bald tyre. Nothing was too much trouble. Geoff was handy and fixed various things and Lynsey is a wizz with technology. We would have them back tomorrow. Thank you Geoff and Lynsey for all your hard work and for being such lovely people. I couldn't have trusted our home and holiday business with anyone else." Sally and Andy August/Sept 2017, Staffordshire, UK

"Lynsey and Geoff are truly wonderful pet/house sitters. They took the greatest of care of our sometimes feisty cat for two weeks and they were amazing. They kept us updated with photos and day to day happenings which is just what you want when you are away from your fur babies. As soon as we met them we knew they would be perfect. They are such a warm caring couple who made absolutely sure that Oscar was fine. We call them the' cat whisperers' as they were so good with him. When we returned our house was immaculate and puss cat so chilled out. We really wish that they lived in the UK, we would ask them back in a heartbeat. Fabulous fabulous couple. If you are looking for the perfect animal/housesitters Lynsey and Geoff are the ones for you." Sue & Phil June/July 2017, Gloucester, UK

"Thank you for the meticulous care you took of our home while we were away for five weeks on business and holidays. Also a big thank you from our two wonderful cats. They looked so healthy and happy on our return, a little overindulged but they weren’t complaining. I was looking forward to coming home and when walking in with you both I saw a house that was absolutely spotless both inside and out. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who needs a house sitter." Lyn & Elton, Australia

"Being new to housesitting we did have some reservations, but Lynsey & Geoff seemed like the right fit for our house and cat Coco. We met them before we left for 6 weeks away. We kept in contact via email while we were overseas and they sent us the odd photo of Coco so we could see she was happy being brushed. (Now she expects it every day!!)
Lynsey & Geoff took us to the airport and picked us up again. Also they left some supplies in the fridge so we didn't have go out for takeaway the evening of our return. Very thoughtful. They left the house cleaner than when we left which was great. And Geoff even dug the vegie patch over!!
We couldn't give them enough praise and would be happy to recommend them to a prospective house owner." Jo & Doug, Australia

Our Background
For the eleven years prior to retiring we had been running our own business providing logistics services to the oil & gas industry and had won contracts with many of the major players in Australia.

We specialised in running the onshore base for the duration of a company's drilling programme, where responding to urgent requests and finding solutions were the order of the day.
We worked together as a team; Geoff liaising closely with the drilling rig, supply vessels, third party suppliers, etc. to ensure everything ran efficiently and smoothly, whilst Lynsey managed the office keeping the lines of communication open to head office and controlling the computer / paperwork administration meticulously.

People often ask how we worked so closely together and comment that they could never do it with their partner, but we did so successfully, and with pleasure, for over a decade and found it only brought us closer together.

We had a hard won reputation in our work life as being the best in the business which resulted in us being constantly awarded contracts, even when times were pretty lean in the oil & gas industry.

This same level of harmonious team work, professionalism and care is what we will bring to looking after your family pets, house and garden, as it would be applied to any house sitting contract we were honoured enough to be granted.

Pet & Animal Experience
Geoff comes from a childhood on a farm and Lynsey's family home was invariably filled with cats and dogs.

As a couple we've always had cats in the house, whether they be rescue cats or strays that just wandered in looking for a better life.

And a better life is what we think they got; our last fella, CJ, would be demanding his brush each morning almost before his breakfast and this of course after a good night's sleep on his own couch at the end of our bed!

Home Care Experience
We have owned our own homes, ranging from double storey, four bedroomed suburbia to inner city apartments, as well as investment properties

We understand that your home is your castle and we will treat it accordingly.

We have used sitters ourselves and know how important it is to find caring, responsible people.

Garden Maintenance Experience
We wouldn't describe ourselves as "avid" gardeners but we have had homes with large gardens, one of which had 150 palms and flowering plants that we designed from scratch and maintained for 5 years before selling to move into the city for a change of pace.

We have also had homes with pools and are fully conversant with their maintenance needs.

You can be confident that your garden will be in safe hands during your absence.

I'm a single, non-smoking woman living the dream, travelling around Australia and overseas for a while, working as I go (online). I have come back to Melbourne to do full time postgraduate study at Melbourne Uni for 12 months, much to my family's delight.

I'd prefer sits within the tram network so I can get to uni easily or along the Frankston or Sandy train lines due to proximity to my people.

I have class commitments at uni for only 1 full day a week and a few hours here and there. I then work and study online from home, so if you have a furb'y that needs me to be home a lot, that won't be a problem at all.

Most importantly for me, house sitting & pet sitting lets me combine my love of animals (particularly cats, dogs & birds) with my love of travel. I can't have my own pets at the moment (unfortunately) because a nomadic home wouldn't be fair on any furry/fluffy family members, but I have had cats and dogs most of my life and chooks more recently. Anyway, I'd love to make sure your fur babies have a happy, comfortable time while you are away. Standard garden maintenance like watering the plants is not a problem either but don't ask me to dig out your 50ft palm tree please.

My care responsibilities have ranged from a very active Staffy who needed nice long walks every day, a tennis ball obsessed Jack Russell or quite elderly puppies. And, of course, a few different cats. I do love dogs, but I've got to say if you've got a cat, that's where my first love lies. I love it when I've got a lovely purring puss sitting by my computer while I work or sitting on my lap when it's chill out time. And if your fur baby needs extra special care, such as medications, that's not a problem.

When not studying, I work for myself online - a proper digital nomad. All I need is a place to plug in - I have my own laptop and internet connection to make the magic happen, so if you have limited data, that's not a problem for me as long as I can get onto Telstra's mobile network. Other than that, all I need is a table/desk and a chair. And a bed would be nice - ha-ha.

I have a number of passions other than travel, most of them involving nature. On the water in my kayak, in the water on my boogie board, or under the water with my snorkel - I'm a water baby. I also love bushwalking and photography. These things are, without doubt, my soul food. I'm also quite partial to a great coffee and lovely food - bring on a good Thai curry. That said, I'm a pretty good cook too.

I've been using sitting websites since May 2018. Prior to this, my experience was occasional pet/house sitting for friends or "friends of friends". I can provide phone references for these sits on request. I also book through Trusted Housesitters and Mindahome, so have endorsements on my profiles there too. My Aussie House Sitters membership has expired, so I've taken screenshots of those references and attached them to my profile here.

A copy of my police check is in my attachments for your peace of mind. Let me know if you would like to meet me on WhatsApp or in person to have a chat about what you need.

To keep things simple, I'm just putting where I will be and when, with booked out dates in my availability calendar :)

July 2019 - December 2019 - Melbourne
Jan/Feb 2020 - Bayside Melbourne or somewhere coastal? I'm open to suggestions :)
end Feb 2020 - June 2020 - inner Melbourne

Hi! As an avid traveler and caring animal lover with a passion for place, I look forward to house sitting for like-minded people.

I have had enjoyable experiences house/pet sitting both locally and internationally. I'm responsible, tidy, respectful and happy to follow through on detail.

Renting in Sydney 8 years, I miss having pets! Previously I have shared my home with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, fish, squirrels, chickens and kangaroos. I enjoy gardening and walking! Occasionally, I can work from home, too.

I prefer longer house stays that are accessible to the city by public transport. Thanks for considering me as your next grateful sitter.

We are an energetic couple who have grown up with many different types of pets and absolutely LOVE all animals! Currently, we own 1 small dog with a BIG personality- a peekapoo named Knox (will not be present during house sits). Knox brings us a lot of joy and we hope to adopt more animals in the future but until then, we would love to care for your pets!

In terms of personality, we are extremely clean and organized as well as very reliable. We maintain a healthy, active lifestyle and are both non-smokers. Traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures is a huge passion of ours and is really what spiked our interest in house sitting. Our other hobbies include outdoor activities, photography, trying new cuisines, and of course, enjoying a nice glass of wine on our deck when the weather is nice.

We have lots of experience with both house and pet sitting for various friends and family members. We would love to be your next sitter!

Hello!

I am a single, non-smoking professional working in Mornington. I am happy to drive up to one hour so anywhere on the peninsula or bayside is fine.

I love all animals and grew up with my house being nicknamed "the zoo" as we had dogs, chickens, ducks, Guinea pigs, rabbits, budgies, rats, fish and a galah! (As well as horses but they were not in our back garden). So I love looking after all varieties of pets and have been enjoying the companionship they offer in my housesits.

Though I had family dogs (schnauzers and boxers) growing up, when I moved out of home at 19 I had my first fur-baby, a red heeler who (despite being diagnosed with epilepsy at a young age) I was lucky to have as part of my life for 13 years. I was devastated when she passed and really miss having that companionship and happiness that dogs bring to your life. I am not in a position to have another dog as yet (but do plan to soon) so love to look after house where I can get some doggy cuddles (or any other animal too!).
As you would imagine a red heeler required regular walks and with her condition, regular medication and treatment. So I am well versed in the importance of both.

I have been housesitting for over 2 years now at various homes and am really enjoying trying out different neighbourhoods (which was one of my core reasons for doing this) and of course being around animals once again. Over the years I have looked after dogs of all sizes from Labs and Boxers to schnauzers and jack russells so am comfortable with all sizes, ages and pairs of dogs.

I am available for any length of house-sitting (longer the better) and can provide references as well as a police check which I can forward as required. I have also looked after many cats, chickens, rabbits and even a hermit crab!

I am a responsible and reliable - and love a quiet environment. I'm a bit of a home body so would be around a lot to look after your property (and any pets) when I am not at work (which is normal Monday - Friday hours, no weekends)

I used to volunteer at Save-a-dog shelter so am also used to rescue animals and their special requirements.

Having owned a house myself in the past I am conscious of the care and security needed in keeping a house maintained, and am a house proud person in general.

I look forward to hearing from you.

We have worked hard all our life and have now just retired.
We are setting off on a journey around Australia and would love the chance to House Sit as a way to explore our country.
We are flexible with dates, pet-free and don't require special parking.
We have owned our own home since the early eighties and have cared for a variety of pets over the years. We currently live in our recently renovated townhouse in Port Douglas, our home for the last 8 years.
We are in our 50's, clean, tidy, organised, fit and active non-smokers, I have experience as a House keeper for magnificent mansions/villas around Port Douglas and have high standards and an eye for detail for home cleanliness and presentation.
I have worked over the years as a Child Care Educator and have a Blue Card, Police Clearance and First Aid certificates.
Glen is very practical and handy, a jack-of-all-trades, able to maintain and fix most things around the house.
Not being able to have pets ourselves we relish the opportunity to spend time with other people's pets.
We look forward to caring for your home as we would our own.

I'm Susanne, 53 years young, an active and world travelled German woman spending the summers in WA House Sitting with my own little car. I have much experience in House and Pet sitting and adapt to the daily routine of your animals while taking care of everything. If you have horses to look after I would well take care of them as I had horses by myself and love to go horse riding.

As I work self employed I have a daily routine in working from my laptop, taking care for your animals, plants, the house with garden/pool, enjoying the new environment.

Due to my work I need a good internet connection (minimum of 6 Mbits Download and 1-2 bits Upload). During the last 3 years I had 28 wonderful House Sits in Australia, Austria, Switzerland, Portugal, Spain and as well in my home country Germany. Some of the home owners asked me to come again even 3-4 times ;-). It always felt like a perfect match and we all were very happy and got friends.

Living tidy and quiet is very important for me. I always leave the house as I got it. I'm vegetarian and a good gardener as I grew my own veggies for many years.

I have as well a private House Sitter Website with references from other pages. Please have a look at www.50plus-travel-live.com.

Maybe you look exactly for a person like me? I'll be coming back to Western Australia November 2019 to March 2020.

I'm looking forward to read from you!
Sunny regards, Susanne

Charlotte & Jon

  • Sydney

Hi, we are Charlotte and Jon, a British professional couple in our late twenties/ early thirties. We started house sitting as a way to get to know different areas of Sydney after relocating from Bristol in June 2018. We have been house sitting back-to-back ever since and have had the most amazing time travelling, making great friends with homeowners and experiencing the beautiful personalities of the pets we look after.

We are currently on our 26th house sit! (references below)

Charlotte is a Veterinarian (10 years+ experience) and has worked in the whole range of vet practices from companion animal, exotic pets and out-of-hours emergency work to farm, equine, specialist zoo and wildlife; as you can imagine she is more than happy to care for ANY pets, domestic or exotic!

Jon currently works at UNSW and has a passion for animal care, from a childhood full of happy memories of much-loved family dogs, cats and rabbits and birds.

We are clean, tidy, non-smokers and proud homeowners (in the UK) and will respect and look after your home and garden in the same manner as our own.

We pride ourselves on making home owners feel comfortable and reassured that their furry friends are in great hands, with regular updates and photos and leaving an immaculate home ready for your return.

We are both practical, sensible and very reliable people and can provide police checks (from our sponsored visa applications) and excellent reference contacts on request.

So far in Sydney, we have had the pleasure of caring for an Italian greyhound, Maltese terriers, a Labrador, a German shepherd, numerous oodles, cocker spaniels, a Staffordshire bull terrier, a British blue cat, Burmese cats, domestic short and longhairs, and several moggies, as well as a Netherland dwarf rabbit, guinea pigs, rats, chickens, reptiles and various fish!

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Virginia (Mosman) (contact details available on request):

Jon & Charlotte house sat our home in Mosman for one month in July 2018.

This was our first experience with house sitters and we weren't sure what to expect, but our faith was well rewarded - they proved to be outstanding caretakers. As well as walking and feeding our three-year-old German shepherd and feeding our five-year-old British Blue cat, Jon & Charlotte looked after our six-bedroom home as if it was their own.

When we returned, the house was immaculate - freshly vacuumed and dusted, plants watered, all the sheets and towels washed and replaced - even the fridges were sparkling.

While we were overseas, Jon sent regular updates on our pets and alerted us to any important looking mail that we were expecting. It gave us great peace of mind knowing our beloved pets were in the care of a veterinarian and her partner who so obviously genuinely love animals. We were truly touched by an amazingly lifelike pencil portrait Charlotte drew of our dog as a thank you gift (and amazed at her many talents!).

Both Jon & Charlotte are very easy going and enjoyable company. Our neighbours have commented on how friendly they were, with several asking for their details for future house-sitting opportunities.

I would also be delighted to provide verbal references for Jon & Charlotte.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Keira (Bondi Beach) (contact details available on request):

I highly recommend Charlotte and Jon as outstanding house and pet sitters.

Charlotte and Jon are a trustworthy, caring, communicative, and reliable couple who graciously took care of my senior dog for three weeks whilst I was overseas. Due to his age, my dog requires some special care including the administration of medication and I feel incredibly lucky to have found Charlotte and Jon.

They were thorough and diligent in understanding his requirements and quirky character and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in their very capable hands. Any pet would be fortunate to have experienced and knowledgeable animal lovers like Charlotte and Jon look after them - my dog was sad to see them go.

Their kind and attentive nature extend beyond animals, as they took great care of my flat while they stayed here. It was wonderful to come home to a clean house and a happy dog!

I'd be happy to be contacted as a reference for Charlotte and Jon and couldn't recommend them more.

Thanks so much guys!

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Alex & Fred (Five Docks) (contact details available on request):

Thanks so much for leaving the house so clean and tidy, thanks too for your lovely card!

We really appreciate you looking after Bluey who is now chilled out on the back deck! We really appreciate the time you took looking after her and for being so accommodating with us coming and going for the week you were here. You have been perfect house sitters and we enjoyed having you around! Please keep in touch.

We will be happy to recommend you to other potential homeowners, should they wish to contact me for a reference.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Claire and Tony (Marrickville) (contact details available on request):

Jon and Charlotte were incredible housesitters. Our place was immaculately well kept & tidy, and they took the time to care for our garden as well as our pet rabbit, Winston, sharing us updates on him regularly while we were overseas.

I would highly recommend them as housesitters, and I am happy to clarify any further questions you may have.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Shannon and Pete (Mosman):

We could not recommend Charlotte and Jon highly enough. This was our first pet sitting experience and needless to say we are very happy and will continue to use the service especially with people like Jon and Charlotte.

Why did we have such a great experience?

Our little pooch Frankie absolutely loved them. They took such great care of her – frequent walks and constant love and attention. We know she loved them because when we returned home she was so relaxed and happy, when we have picked her up from kennels in the past she has been nervous and anxious and has taken a few weeks to settle back into routine.

On top of treating our furry friend like a princess they kept us up to date with daily photos and updates for the entire 3 weeks.
Jon and Charlotte kept our house immaculately clean – it has never looked cleaner!

I could not fault them and will definitely be having them back again when we go away next.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Liesel (Mosman)
(contact details available on request):

Charlotte and Jon looked after our house and dog for a week in January 2019. They are a very capable and delightful couple that took great care with both our house and rather needy, but very much loved, dog. The house was absolutely beautiful on our return (better than we had left it!) and the dog was happy. They were great communicators and they were eager to assist with deliveries etc. when needed. We would definitely use them again and would absolutely recommend their services to others.

Happy to provide verbal references upon request.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Jane (Rydalmere)

Charlotte and Jon were fabulous house-sitters. We needed a sitter with just a few days notice and Jon & Charlotte came to meet with us beforehand and were just perfect. On our return our house was just as we left it and our neighbours commented how lovely they both were too! Our cat Simba is very timid but was clearly at ease in their company and was in good spirits on our return. I won't waffle on because clearly they are faultless and I can highly recommend them to anyone.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Tabitha & Tom (Cremorne)
(contact details available on request):

Charlotte and Jon looked after our house for 4 weeks. They took care of our two cats and fish. Our cats are rescued and need TLC. They looked after them very well during that period and were good at keeping us informed and sending us regular photos etc. On our return they cleaned the house and even changed our bed sheets which was lovely to come back to. They took care of our place very well during that time and did everything we expected from them. Overall we were
very satisfied. We're happy to be a reference for future. If we go away again we'll look to use Charlotte and Jon again.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Hillary & Alex (Lane Cove North)
(contact details available on request):

Jon Dunn and Charlotte Day house/cat sat at our apartment for a period of four weeks in June 2019 while my husband, son and I were on an overseas holiday.

They were excellent house sitters, very friendly and warm and were in regular contact with me by messenger, sending us pictures of our two cats and keeping us up to date with their stay. This gave us great peace of mind and we were able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing our fur babies were in very capable hands.

On our return our apartment was immaculately clean and tidy, the garden was well looked after and our cats were very happy! I noticed over the week following their stay they had replaced any consumables they may have used and everything was set up for our return.

I would be very glad to recommend them as excellent house sitters and would have them back at any time in future. Please feel free to contact me should you wish to discuss further.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Susan (Randwick)

Jon and Charlotte looked after my very old dog with gentle patience and kindness. They looked after the house well, and I have no hesitation in recommending them highly to people needing dog and/or house sitting.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Robyn (Newington)

Jon & Charlotte, thank you so very much for looking after our home and pets. Our home is immaculately clean, our pets happy and obviously well cared for.
Really there are no words to express our thanks! Wishing you well on all your future adventures.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Amy and Ingo (Earlwood)
(contact details available on request):

Jon and Charlotte cared for our two pets, Tash a anxious cocker spaniel, and Mirabelle a British short hair cat with a heart condition, for approximately 3 weeks.

From the moment we met them we felt at ease. The animals seemed to naturally take to them, and they presented as very confident and capable. In addition to feeding the animals, Jon and Charlotte also attended to their daily medications and dog walking. We received lots of updates and photos of the pets and upon our return both the animals and the house had obviously been well taken care of.

We would call on them again in a heart beat to pet sit.

---------------------------------------------------------

House sitting reference from Barbara and Steph (Randwick)
(contact details available on request):

We are delighted to highly recommend Charlotte and Jon, especially as wonderful dog sitters but also as trustworthy house sitters.

We have 2 very special dogs – a sensitive 8-year-old who rarely takes to anybody outside the immediate family and a boisterous 18 months old pup. This was the first time we had ever left the dogs and we were extremely nervous as we all headed overseas for 5 weeks.

From the first meeting, both dogs warmed to Charlotte and Jon and they made an excellent first impression on us with their calm, friendly manner and obvious rapport with our dogs. They came to our home to meet the two dogs and observe them in their familiar setting and to get to know their routines. They responded to the individual needs of each dog and handled them affectionately and confidently.

We immediately felt comfortable knowing the dogs would be well cared for at home and safely exercised in familiar parks. Charlotte and Jon sent daily updates and photos to us so we could see that the dogs were healthy, happy and well-fed. Our home was left spotless, both inside and out.

We were so happy that I have already re-booked Charlotte and Jon for another stay and several friends have booked them after our very positive experience.

*Updated 7 September 2019*

I am an experienced and reliable house-sitter.

I don't smoke, have police checks, former house sit referees, my own car, and am passionate about animals and gardening.

This year has been a year of long term house-sits (five consecutive housesits), and am looking for opportunities to care for your home, pets and/or garden until 6 October 2019.

I love animals - dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits. While studying at university, I worked in a petstore (Pet Stock) and was also brought up surrounded by dogs. My family raised litters of cavoodles and my parents now run a highly successful dog grooming business in the south east. I am very at ease caring for animals.

I am a government employee in my early thirties. I wake quite early in the morning (around 5am) and live a productive and healthy life. My work is very much 9am to 5pm, and there are options to work from home (we can also sometimes bring dogs to work). If you have a dog that requires walking, this allows plenty of time for both morning and evening walks,

My ideal evening is one spent at home, with a dog or cat to keep me company, reading a book, watching a movie, cooking, and just relaxing.

I own a home, although have rented it out as I have had the opportunity to house-sit and - for now - it makes sense and suits my lifestyle very well as I don't have any other commitments. The place I own isn't ideal for pets (there's no garden) and I'm also saving up to do something fun (like a big trip in 2020!), so house & pet-sitting is ideal for me.

I am very grateful for all housesitting opportunities, and ensure that your home and pets are extremely well cared for.

My preference is for a housesit that is 2+ months, with the more desirable house-sit being one that is longer in length. Once I commit to a house-sit, I will ensure that the commitment is always upheld even if better options present themselves. I pride myself on my reliability, trustworthiness, and integrity.

I will provide a written reference and police check prior to interviewing. Following an interview, if we think the arrangement would work well, I am more than happy to provide a number of referees you can contact.

Thank you for considering me for your house-sit opportunity. I hope to discuss it further with you in person.

You need not look any further, you have found a caring, trustworthy sitter to mind your home and precious, loved ones, including collecting the mail, taking out / bringing in bins and general house cleaning, as required. I keep an exceptionally clean and tidy, secure home, to ensure you peace of mind while you are away!

I am a 49 year old woman, and very experienced in pet / house sitting and tentatively mindful of home owners houses and precious pets in their absence! Please note that I am a non smoker and have no pets of my own.

Having grown up in a friendly pet loving home and having always been privileged to have pets close by, I have a genuine love and natural affiliation with animals and have responsibly cared for them in the past as I would my own. I regularly reassure owners of their pet's progress and house upkeep during their absence. Looking after your home / pets would be as much of a benefit to you / them as it would be to me.

Being locally based I am very familiar with the area and flexible with potential meeting times. Therefore, it would be easy for me to meet with you, at your convenience, to discuss your requirements further.

Having travelled extensively, we have house, farm and boat sat around the world for years. This has included large and small animal care, from horses to mice and almost everything in-between. Both of us are animal lovers and are experienced horse riders and sailors and my husband, a ‘green-fingered’ gardener.

We intend travelling up / down the east coast of Australia from Melbourne to northern QLD and back (x2) from Jan 2020 to Dec 2022 starting in Melbourne in late Jan 2020.

Our time, therefore, is highly flexible and we are prepared to house / farm / equine establishment /pet /livestock sit for both short and long stays.

We are house proud and you can be assured that we will care for your home and pets / horses or other livestock accordingly. We are more than happy to lunge your horses or groom them and / or your dog / cat etc. while you are away as well as administer medicines etc if needed, take them on walks and of course, provide lots of love,

We have a long list of references (all readily contactable) listed here as well as on request if more are required.

Married professional couple, Early 60's, non-smokers and used to having animals around as we have both grown up on rural properties and cared for animals in the past. Looking to assist others with house sitting now we are nearing retirement. We are a healthy, clean, nonsmoking family who would look after your home in the same manner that we love and respect our own home. We owned and maintained a large garden for many years and received numerous prizes in local garden competitions. We have house sat in the past and the owners have provided us with references. We have had our house sat and appreciate what people desire when engaging house sitters themselves.
As we move into retirement w are looking for the opportunity to house sit across New South Wales and Queensland.

I am a mature, responsible and highly conscientious 55 year old lady who is currently on her twelfth successful house sit. I’m a well-travelled and highly respectful person that adores animals and find I easily establish rapport with them. I often become the ‘aunty’ to our new fur friends on our house sits. I will treat your home and fur babies with lots of care, love and attention. You can be assured you can holiday with no worries at all about your home and your pets. I lead a healthy lifestyle and I’m clean living and non smoking. I only work online , so can give your fur babies lots of love and attention. I am a friendly, healthy, happy person that is easy to get along with. I do have a unique gift with animals, they almost always like me on first sight, which says a lot about a person. I’m currently house sitting as I love the freedom and lifestyle it gives me ( I have a base in Redcliffe, a small cottage) and as I no longer have dogs or cats of my own, just love looking after other peoples. .
Im more then happy to supply references if you require them, both from house sitting, work, and personal.
I really hope you consider me as i believe you’ll be very happy with my level of care.

A caring respectful duo. We are a happy, quiet, easy going non-smoking mature couple who have raised 3 wonderful children and are now embracing a gradual transition to retirement. Roger spent 35 years working across all three levels of Government and Janette has just wound up a 22 year career with Big W. As we were pet owners most of our lives, and now have chosen to travel for a while, we love the opportunity to spend time and care for animals.

We have a beautiful home base in SE Qld from which we have embarked on a self sufficient camping trip around OZ and several long coastal reef sailing trips up the Queensland coast. These experiences are coupled with an early career for Roger as a Horticulturist and Janettes' great love of animals. Roger also grew up on an acreage with a variety of farm animals. This enables us to turn our hand to whatever tasks are necessary to manage and maintain property, plants and animals. We are honest, resourceful, reliable and happy with our own company and enjoying the environment we find ourselves in. We enjoyed a circuit of Aus in 2017 featuring some wonderful house sitting in 3 states and also as a camp ground host on a small property. Resulting in endorsements from all the home owners.

Our intention is to do some shorter trips in 2019 incorporating house sitting if possible as we loved the opportunity to meet some wonderful home owners, spend time with some lovely animals and get to know and explore local communities in much greater depth. Rest assured we will look after your home and pets as if they were our own and respect your privacy. We are new to this site but can provide references from home owners across Australia whose homes and animals we have cared for.

Previous reference."Roger and Janette were absolutely perfect! They really took care of our place and animals well and were great at communicating ie pictures of happy pets! They also went beyond what was expected and worked hard to clean up our pool and help organise a pool technician to come out. really grateful that we were able to go on a 2 week holiday with great comfort that our house and pets were in good hands... and hopefully they had a nice stay too!" • Northern Rivers, Tweed Coast, Bris. Southern suburbs, Gold Coast & Hinterland, TAS, Gippsland

We are open to places in the Redland Coast, Gold Coast, Brisbane and Northern NSW. Brett teaches music 3 days a week at private college on the Gold Coast. I am at home most times. We are a great team. I love to cuddle, snuggle, massage, coo over all the animals, make sure they are fed and clean and related. Brett loves to play with all the animals. All their needs, and more, are met by us. We have current police reports, and excellent references.
We are well travelled American/Australian and Australian/NewZealander and have housesat and animal cared many times over 10 years, and also had others housesit our homes we have owned in Maleny Australia and Nelson NZ. We follow the golden rule, and love the concept of sharing home spaces, caring for a home, not a housesitter. We love animals, and know that they are members of your family, and we will treat them like members of ours. We are spiritually conscious, and always aim to bring quality life and good energy wherever we are with the goal of helping co-create a better life for all. We have housesat in Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and America, and we bring good positive energy to keep your home and animals nourished. I love nature and caring for a garden, vegetable, or floral. We are clean and conscious, non-partiers, peaceful and cooperative.
As well established travelers who have often used housesitters, we know the gift it is to have someone on whom you can lean. We like to provide that service for others, and believe what goes around comes around.
What we bring to the assignment / relevant experience
Well experienced in small units to 100 acre properties, from city to country, and from average suburbia to multi-million dollar estates. Organization, integrity, great communication, empathic with animals, clean, clarity, spiritually aware and conscious, multicultural realities. We are able to cover the depth and breadth of your needs as a loving and committed married couple. Our own great teamwork blend of partnership can serve you in your household needs. We have joyful expression and kindness as an asset to offer to your beloved animals. We have had our own gardens and properties and honor the relationship we have with you, your animals, and your property. We are honest, clear, trustworthy, caring.

Hi there. Michael and I are originally form the UK but were lucky enough to move to Australia 11 years ago. We are now both Australian Citizens and after working hard during this time with our own business decided it was time for a bit of a lifestyle change.
We sold up in Sydney and have now been travelling for 7 months with our Caravan and enjoying every moment. We decided to investigate the possibility of housesitting as this would fit in well with our no fixed agenda/timescale and give us the chance to take a break from time to time. Michael worked as an Electrical Technician in the construction field and I have always worked in finance and as an accountant for our business. We are both very active and enjoy a number of hobbies including the shared past time of lawn bowls which I also coach and spent several years with WBNSW state coaching panel. We do not have any pets with us but are quite happy to look after your pets whilst looking after your home. We haven’t ventured down this road before so have no references from previous house owners but can arrange to provide personal references if requested. I have also been police checked as this was a requirement for my coaching with juniors etc. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact us.
All lengths of stay would be considered but as we are currently in the northern part of Queensland for the next few months this area would be most suitable at present. Especially looking for somewhere over the Christmas period.

  • Bris. Northern suburbs, Bris. Western suburbs

We are Australians, currently located in Brisbane QLD!

Our bags are packed, and we are awaiting your call, your home is our home and your fur babies are our children. Happy to do most household tasks, right down to making sure there is fresh bread and milk in the fridge waiting for you. We pride ourselves on being very organised.

We are happy, healthy, energetic, non-smokers and non-drinkers with police clearance and references which can be requested at any time. Our most recent house sits have been in Brisbane, Queensland (6 years) Perth, Western Australia, Middle East (Qatar) and Darwin, Northern Territory.

We are a financially secure long-term couple and have been together for 27 years. When living our own life, we enjoy Ballroom dancing, Picnic’s, taking care of other people’s children (4 legged), walking, gardening, and doing odd jobs around the house. We love the variety that house sitting gives us, meeting new people and exploring new areas.

We are a couple that move frequently as my husband works on IT projects. We love animals but find it difficult renting when you have a dog or a cat. We have both always had animals in our lives, from a canary, to dogs and farm animals, all creatures great and small.

We have a long history of renting, with no issues raised by the property managers.

Being homeowners ourselves in WA, we know all the concerns you might have about other people living in your home. As such we always respect the home we are living in, is someone else’s property. We like to keep our living space as we would our own home, or as we would like our tenants to keep our property. Clean, tidy, well maintained.

While David works, Andrea is the fortunate one who gets to have no commitments, and be a full-time house sitter, which enables plenty of time for walking, cuddling and giving attention to your pet's and keeping house.

We both come from families with fathers who are/were master builders, so most tasks around the home we can handle.

We supply all our own consumable goods and bed, so we don’t need to inconvenience the homeowner in any way. If you need to get work or maintenance done while your away we will be there all the time and supervise to make sure your jobs are getting done.

Caring for a home comes naturally for us…

I am 50+ years old, previously a lawyer/court registrar, just returned to Australia from 5 years volunteering in Vanuatu and South Africa through an Australian Government programme. I’m starting a PhD at RMIT and have flexibility in location and duration of house and pet sitting. I adore all animals, am very kind and attentive to their needs. I can be physically on-site day and night if required, providing a very high level of supervision and companionship for your precious animals (family members). Happy to accommodate high needs pets who require lots of TLC or activity. I respect privacy, am very neat, clean and reliable. References available on request.
